| Norfloat - Buoys, Fenders
and Navigational Aids |
 |
Norfloat
International is a wholly owned British Company
with its origins in Norway. It is one of the original
manufacturers of of inflatable buoys and fenders,
and the name has been known world-wide for nearly
forty years.
Today the company has the largest range of buoys
and fenders of any manufacturers worldwide and has
been awarded ISO 9001 certification by BVQI.
Norfloat also has a prominent position within the
world's manufacturers of aids to navigation, the
range of products including buoys, towers and lanterns
and the company is a member of IALA.
The company policy has always been
to produce good, seaworthy buoyage, using the latest
easy to maintain materials. Marine Architects have
been used to assist in the design and to help develop
inherently stable buoys that have self righting
characteristics. Whilst appreciating the need for
good and sometimes sophisticated lanterns and control
systems, the Norfloat principles of manufacturing
as stable a platform as possible can reduce electric's
costs in comparison to many other aids to navigation
suppliers. The basic principle of keeping it simple
with good initial design can always save money and
simplify maintenance in the long term.
With an appreciation of the difficulties of maintenance,
particularly on items that are constantly moving
in the sea, we have now embarked on a further programme
of design re-evaluation to assist in such problems.
We firmly believe that if buoyage is easy to maintain,
then maintenance will be done and not avoided.
We aim to provide practical solutions for practical
users. |
