NORNAV NN2000 &
NN 2500 - NAVIGATION BUOYS
The NN2000 & NN2500 navigation buoys
are constructed from rotationally moulded
medium density polyethylene, pressure foam
filled to a density of 36 kgs./ cu.m. and
finished in IALA compliant colours. The
material is UV resistant and designed to
give a colour fast life of up to 10 years.
All buoys are finished with two coats of
environmentally acceptable anti-foul paint
below the water line.
The buoys are fitted with a balance keel
and anti-spin fins, which also provide the
mooring points and are finished in galvanised
steel.
The NN2000 has three separate buoyancy
chambers and the NN2500 four (fitted onto
a galvanised steel frame). The hulls are
through bolted with M33 bolts (three per
hull section) to connect keel and top plate.
Towers comprise of a galvanised steel frame,
clad with polyethylene panels. Size and
shape can vary according to specifications.
All NorNav buoys are designed to be in
inherently stable (see GZ plot).
Lanterns, solar panels, radar reflectors
and battery systems are fitted to clients
specifications using a bespoke wiring loom.

NORNAV NN 1250, 1500
& 1800 NAVIGATION BUOYS
The NorNav series of buoys are manufactured
from rotationally moulded medium density
polyethylene, pressure foam filled to a
density of 36 kgs./cu.m and finished in
IALA compliant colours. The material is
UV resistant and designed to give a colour
fast life of up to 10 years. All buoys are
finished with two coats of an environmentally
acceptable anti-foul paint below the water
line.
The buoy is fitted with a balance keel
and anti-spin fins which also provide the
mooring points and can be finished in galvanised
mild steel or 16L stainless steel.
The hull is through bolted with M33 bolts
to connect keel and top plate to the tower.
Towers are constructed form galvanised steel
or stainless steel and clad with polyethylene
panels to provide pillar or day shape configurations.
All NorNav products are designed to be
inherently stable (see GZ plot).
Lanterns, solar panels, radar reflectors
and battery systems are fitted to clients
specification using a bespoke waterproof
wiring loom.

The Norfloat range of navigation buoys
and lantern towers forms the basis for The
NorNav Range, included within this range
are also the Nornav marine lanterns and
solar charging systems together with mooring
equipment and more general aids to navigation
products.
|
 |
 |
The NorNav range of Navigation markers
are designed and manufactured in-house within
our modern factory in the U.K., to provide
reliable, efficient and cost effective solutions
to all inshore and coastal buoyage requirements.
|
|
At present the NorNav range consists of
IALA compliant markers in sizes of 1.0m,
1.25m, 1.8m, 2.0m and 2.5m diameter for
all inshore and coastal applications, including:
lateral markers, isolated danger and safe
water marks, cardinal marks and special
marks. These are all available either lit
or unlit. In most configurations the
floating hull unit is manufactured from
rotationally moulded medium density polyethylen,
with long lasting colouring and U.V. protection. To
creat an unsinkable structure the hull is
also pressure injected with two part polyurethane
closed cell foam.
|
 |
| |
|
|
The NorNav marine lanterns and solar power
systems are chosen to meet the most stringent
customer requirements world-wide.
|
|
The steelwork contained within all NorNav
polyethylene hulls and shore line towers
and posts, incuding the NorNav 'NorKeel'
stabilising unit and buoy lantern tower,
are hot dip galvanised for long life, and
the design incorporates special features
to make routine servicing as efficient and
quick as possible.
|
 |
 |
Norfloat also manufacture more traditional
buoys with steel hulls in sizes up to 2.5m
diameter. In all cases the dayshape and
lantern tower is fabricated from quality
steel, hot dip galvanised The day
shape towers have standard panels moulded
from coloured GRP, but marine plywood
can be specified as a customer option. All
marker buoys of 1.8m diameter and above
are fitted with bespoke fendering for added
protection as standard, smaller sized buoys
can also be fendered as a customer option.
