Rigid Mooring Buoys
Norfloat's foam filled buoys are used by
Rescue Services, Ministries of Defence,
Yacht Harbours and many Harbour Authorities
in the U.K. and overseas.

Norfloat's range of foam filled mooring
buoys are moulded from medium density Polyethylene
with U.V. stabilisers to give extended service.
Two part foam is injected into the buoy
under pressure during production,this gives
a considerable increase in strength, and
the capacity to stay afloat even after sustaining
severe damage.

Buoys in the smaller sizes
(up to 1m dia.) are normally supplied with
a central galvanised tube through the buoy
to take the riser chain. Buoys over 1m.
in diameter have heavy reinforcing steel
top and bottom plates as shown in the above
photograph with forged pad eyes to take
riser and mooring pennants.Smaller sizes
can be supplied with a mooring eye and swivel
to special order.

An important feature of Norfloats foam
filled buoys is the option to ''build''
these modular buoys to give increased buoyancy
in situations where water depth and
chain size are of vital consideration. Special
mooring requirements will often need a ''design
for the job''; these buoys are an ideal
basis for such applications.
